A tinderbox waiting to explode

There has been a violentt incident along the border between Israel and the Hamas.
A Hamas terrorist is to been have killed and likely some sort of Israeli casualties that have not been reported yet.
The Hamas is not really ready yet for a new round of fighting as it rebuilds its tunnel infrastructure.
That does not mean things will stay quiet, it just means war now is less likely.
The Hamas is not getting what it wants and what it promised its people after the last war.
The drop in oil revenue has hindered the ability of Arab countries with coming through on promises made to the Hamas.
The harsh winter is making the recovery efforts of the Hamas look ridiculous.
A battle or even war with Israel will deflect internal problems.
Its just a matter of time until all hell breaks loose again.
Probably not today but soon.
It is now being reported that someone probably an Israeli soldier has been wounded or killed in this incident.
War is hell.

Big mistake

It is astounding that the man who made it his mission to defeat terrorism has basically capitulated to the Hamas terrorist organization by agreeing to ta cease fire.
He will say that there is no real other viable option and few would want to risk the lives of so many soldiers but very many here in Israel feel frustrated at the results.
In essence if this cease fire holds up,none have up till now.
The Hamas will be able to start to terrorize once again Israel when it chooses.
This should be a unacceptable situation but it is not.
The Gaza strip as it is called is a biblical part of Israel, Jews have lived there for centuries there is even a famous Rabbi buried in the Jewish cemetery there.
Leaving the area 9 years ago was wrong and has caused so much heartache to so many.
Israel must and eventually will have to retake the strip and settle there Jews once again.
It will happen after mush more bloodshed on both sides.
There are those that still believe it is possible with good will to reach an understanding with the Hamas or the Palestinians.
Many understand that this is impossible.
There are those who wish to relinquish more territory but they are in the minority.
The right wing politicians have gathered strength and will dominate the next elections.
When ever that may happen.
The next war is just a matter of time.

Amnesty international helping Hamas

Amnesty international accuses Israel and Hamas of War crimes.

In the newest report of Amnesty Israel is accused of deliberately targeting civilians and causing the death of nearly four hundred noncombatants. Hamas is accused of firing rockets into Israel that cause wide spread havoc this was also labeled a war crime.

Hamas strategy has been for a long time to use the very dense population centers of the Gaza strip as human shields for its members. This strategy was designed to hamper or completely eliminate Israel’s ability to target its members. Amnesty has become another weapon in the arsenal of hamass psychological warfare. Israel will still need to target terrorists who are hiding behind civilians as these terrorists put in danger its soldiers and civilians. The concern for the Israeli military establishment is the hesitation that may be over emphasized when seeing civilians near terrorist targets. This hesitation may ultimately cost Israeli lives. It is mostly incorrect to say that these reports have no effect on the Israeli military, Their effect is the slow erosion of the ability of the IDF to properly target its enemies. The Hamas has once again scored points by sacrificing its own women and children in a virtual public opinion battle with Israel. In the next conflict which will surly come sooner or later the Hamas will once again resort to tactics that seem to win it points in the eyes of the world. They will shoot from schools and hospitals from homes and places of worship. The Israeli army will react as any responsible army would and by doing so noncombatants will be killed. Then Amnesty will come out with another mostly anti-Israel report.

In one main area the Hamas has it wrong. The ultimate resolve for Israel may be undermined somewhat but there will be enough left to continue to defend itself.

Israel won’t just go away.
