The theater of the absurd

The security council voted against setting a time table for Israel to relinquish control over Judea and Smaria by 2017.
The resolution did not pass as it needed 9 members to vote for it, it received eight votes and the US did not have to use its veto to annul the vote.
The whole process is absurd for the following reasons.
There is no real Palestinian state and there never will be one.
Even if the vote passed somehow it would have rejected by the Hamas, Jihad, Isil and others.
Even if the vote passed Israel could not and would not have accepted the outcome.
Besides the Palestinians have proved over and over that they just want to go through the motions of negotiation and never really reach any conclusions.
The process here is important.
Reaching any conclusion is an anathema to the Arabs.
They do not and will not accept a Jewish presence in the land of Israel.
There will never be a Palestinian state for so many reasons.
That does not stop the whole world from talking about a 2 state solution.
This conflict is unsolvable.
It is containable.
Constantly talking about something that will never happen is not helpful.
It is the theater of the absurd.

The Palestinian State

The Palestinians are about to go the security council and resolution calling for a Israels complete withdrawal from all lands liberated 1967.
They have given this 3 years.
Meaning if the resolution passes Israel will have till the end of 2017 to remove about 700,000 Israeli settlers from vast areas that they live today.
Everyone understands that this cannot happen under any Israeli government in any way.
It is a continuance of the diplomatic war of attrition being waged at Israel at this time.
As European countries continue to recognize Palestine (where ever that is) the pressure on Israel will certainly mount on a number of fronts.
Israel needs to declare parts of Judea and Samaria as part of its territory as a first step.
Those areas close to Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv need to be annexed immediately!
The Arabs who live in those areas should be offered Israeli citizenship if they so wish.
They should be provided with money and infrastructure to better their communities.
There has to be a firm Israeli reaction to the actions of the Israeli Arabs er sorry Palestinians.
It has gotten to far

Pure evil

A 11 year old girl was severely burned by youths near her home a few days ago.
The human being who can almost burn to death a small girl should be destroyed.
This is pure evil and it must be eradicated.
Knowing that this may be difficult to do the army and country should exile the family and destroy its house.
A new Jewish town should be built where this family lived to send a strong message that evil and outrage will not pay.
These youths were arrested and are under investigation right now.
They face an uncertain future as some may try to claim lenience for them based on their youth.
One can hope that they are being treated as badly as possible as they are cowards who have caused an innocent little girl unimaginable suffering.
Their is nothing unethical in this extreme case of mistreating these cowards.
If torture on some level was an option it should be used in this instance.
They should be taken to witness the destruction of their homes and deportation of their families.
They should be placed in jail with stronger more violent inmates in the hope that they will be mistreated.
They are pure evil.
They need to suffer and die.

A tinderbox waiting to explode

There has been a violentt incident along the border between Israel and the Hamas.
A Hamas terrorist is to been have killed and likely some sort of Israeli casualties that have not been reported yet.
The Hamas is not really ready yet for a new round of fighting as it rebuilds its tunnel infrastructure.
That does not mean things will stay quiet, it just means war now is less likely.
The Hamas is not getting what it wants and what it promised its people after the last war.
The drop in oil revenue has hindered the ability of Arab countries with coming through on promises made to the Hamas.
The harsh winter is making the recovery efforts of the Hamas look ridiculous.
A battle or even war with Israel will deflect internal problems.
Its just a matter of time until all hell breaks loose again.
Probably not today but soon.
It is now being reported that someone probably an Israeli soldier has been wounded or killed in this incident.
War is hell.

Israel gas reserves

Israel has discovered gas of its coast, that's the good news.
The bad news is that the group that has invested his money in a very risky enterprise is being punished.
It is inconceivable that the person or people that has invested his money to find the gas id being stabbed in the back.
Yitchak Tesuvah deserves to benefit on the gamble he took to look for the gas.
After it was found to show him the door will endanger future searches for oil or gas.
This ruling that will not let those who found the gas to make money is counterproductive to future investment.
It is hard to escape the feeling that populist sentiments are behind this ruling.
Destroying free enterprise and discouraging fresh investors to invest in Israels natural resources.
The bottom line is that those who spent the money deserve to make the big money.
Taking away the lure of profits from future investors will doom future investments.
Its Israels gas but Tsuvah found it.

Israeli elections, Palestinian statehood, what a mess!

The Palestinians or at least that what they call themselves seek a state so they claim.
They are trying to push through the security council a resolution that will force Israel to go back to the lines of the pre 1967 six day war.
The deadline for this is unclear either 2016 or 2017.
Both deadlines are bogus as all know that they cannot and will not be met.
It is a game that is being played and that will allow the officials of the authority to continue thing willo travel the world and live lavish lifestyles.
Nothing will come out of all this as no government can ever agree to the displacement of 700,000 people from Judea Samaria and East Jerusalem.
Their insistence of the Arabs to never recognize a Jewish state and ask for things that they will never receive is a strategic move.
The long term plan is to weaken the resolve of Israel and then destroy it.
This will not work but they keep on trying.
Its all about destroying Israel slowly.
It will not work.
Different methods have been tried in the last 100 years.
This method will not work either.
The Arabs do not get it really.
What a waste of time and energy!

Russia the Ruble and all the rest

Currency crisis in Russia will have effect on the world, all will be effected.
It is difficult to see how Russia will extricate itself from this current crisis as the core issues fueling this crisis are not changing soon.
How will this effect Wall street?
In the short term their will be jitters as all major events of the world cause jitters on American markets.
Long term this might even prop up markets in the US.
Here is how.
Unstable assets will be liquefied and sent to a safer investment atmosphere.
Wall street which already has been seeing a influx of money around world will see European and Russian money.
Just think about it.
The Ruble is collapsing because people are buying dollars.
Where are those dollars supposed to go?
There is only one place for them to go and that is Wall street.
So capitalism and macro economics dictates the money of the world.
Great time to get into market now.
Money is to be made.
Have fun.

Spreading like a cancer

The sick perverted extreme jihadist movement is sweeping across the world.
The latest manifestation is the hostage crisis in a coffee shop in Sydney Australia.
The outcome of this crisis remains unclear as it is ongoing.
What is clear is the slow progression of a violent extreme religiously fueled movement that seeks world domination.
Stopping this movement is very difficult as it is grassroots in many ways.
The success of the Islamic state seems to have captured the hearts and minds of many people in the world whose lives are going no where.
If this siege ends with hostages killed there will be copycat acts around the world.
This problem will not go away if simply disregarded.
It is intensifying and will continue to do so.
The United States correctly seeks to destroy this group.
The only problem is that without overwhelming force this will not happen.
The US and its allies need to understand the enormity of the problem and what is happening in front of our eyes.
This movement needs to be destroyed and now.
A coalition of countries needs to take the fight to these fanatics and destroy it.
There is no other way.

Here we go again ( maybe)

It does not take much to ignite riots and even another intifada in Judea Samaria and Jerusalem.
A minister in the so called Palestinian government has died of an apparent heart attack during a violent demonstration with Israeli soldiers in Samaria.
He can be seen sitting down apparently in the middle of a heart attack after a confrontation with the IDF.
The Palestinian authority has apparently suspended or is threatening to suspend security coordination with Israel as a result of this death.
In addition they have announced a three day mourning period.
This might be the spark that will start the Intifada all are talking about.
The Arab Palestinians could not pick a better time for this as Israels leadership is embroiled in a bitter political fight leading up to elections in three months.
The coming hours and funeral for Ziad Abu Ein will be an indicator if this is the spark that will let all hell loose.
This comes as a backdrop to a showdown at the UN over a resolution demanding Israel withdraw completely to pre 67 lines in 23 months.
The very worst is yet to come.

Democratic nightmare

Having a real democracy has its advantages of course.
Free enterprise.
Independent judiciary.
The list goes on.
There are drawbacks when so many parties vie for leadership and seem to despise each other.
The Israeli democratic model is not doing well.
It is so complicated that a thick book might be needed to explain its intricacies.
The main point of contention seems to hinge on the Jewish character of the country.
All the other issues seem to to stem from the stance on "how Jewish should it be?".
Settlements land swaps and all other foreign policy decisions are part of this grand constant difference of opinion.
The left in Israel cannot and will not comprehend that in essence their is no real peace partner.
Their insistence on trying to restart peace negotiations make most Israelis think that they have lost touch with reality.
They have.
The Right wing for its part has no real plan for the future (at least the main right wing party) for the future as the Palestinians have decided to establish a state unilaterally.
This is also disconcerting for many.
The day after the elections will be more confusing than the confusion now.
What a mess!!

Here we go again

New elections in Israel, its really a bit much.
There is so much fragmentation in the political arena in Israel that elections seem to happen all the time.
The main problem is the frustration of center left parties that Israelis seem to be continuing to go to the right wing.
This right wing move is not in one party but rather in smaller parties that end up creating a weak coalition.
Then when push comes to shove this weakness becomes acute and the government falls.
The center left will likely lose more seats in the upcoming elections making the frustration even greater.
Someone once said that the hardest job in the world must be being the prime minister of Israel.
Its even harder that that.
